Alexandra The Violinist || DIY: How To Remove Keratin Bond Hair Extensions At home
DISCLAIMER: I am not a trained hair dresser or extension specialist. I have simply done lots or research into removing hair extensions safely and bought the equipment that I think is safe to use
In November 2019 I had Gold Fever extensions fitted at Sophie Amelia's in Marshals Yard, Gainsborough. I felt incredible. But when I was due to have them removed, lock down was already in place. The roots of my hair were getting seriously matted, I was worried that if I didn't get them out, I may have to get my head shaved by the time the hair salons opened again. You'll see how bad it was when you watch the video.
I did some research online and went amazon shopping for the equipment. I headed to the Amazon website and bought:
- FIDENTIA Bond Remover | Wig Glue Dissolvent | Tape-in & Keratin Hair Extension Bonding Solvent (200ml)
- Hair2heart Pliers for Removing Bond Extensions
The end product was great, although I still have some matting which I'm hoping comes out over time as I condition and brush. I did lose a lot of hair in the shower which was worrying.
If you're doing this at home too, please be careful. It can take the wrong solution, wrong equipment and the slightest mistakes to damage your hair.
